PORT DE PLAISANCE--Childfest 2008, This event, which attracted hundreds last year in support of this noble cause established by Angela Richards and other community members, will kicked off on Saturday evening, March 15, with an exquisite five-chef dinner led by Dino of Temptations whose frequent gastronomique awards continue to put St. Martin/St. Maarten globally on the map.

This elegant evening of dining, dancing and silent auction bidding will hosted approx 200 guests at Port de Plaisance, where their US $200 per person contribution lead the way towards Childfest’s US $100,000 fundraising goal for the phenomenal weekend.

Then the grounds of Port de Plaisance was transformed into a menagerie of happy and healthy entertainment for the whole family during Childfest’s Fun Day on Sunday, March 16 2008.This Fun Day was filled to the brim with music, dance, outdoor games, arts & craft, a petting zoo, helicopter and Harley rides, and an open air flea market filled with unique treasures.

Throughout the day, food and drinks of all nations at reasonable prices where available, full lunches and early dinners for the whole family. Special for the day, artist Roland Richardson has taken on the creative challenge to do portrait sketches of youngsters for a US $15 donation.

Childfest organizers would like to thank the entire community to have joined them on this event. Proceeds of the event will help aid the many youth oriented organizations on St. Martin/St. Maarten.
